in what Allah has revealed," they say, "We believe [only] in what was
revealed to us
'And he said to them, "Thus
says the Lord God of Israel, 'Put your sword on your side each of you, and go
to and from gate to gate throughout the camp, and each of you kill his
brother and his companion and his neighbor.'" And Moses said, "Today you have been
ordained for the service of the Lord, each one at the cost of his son and of
his brother, so that he might bestow a blessing upon you this day." And the sons of Levi did according to the
word of Moses. And that day about three thousand men of the people fell. 'Exodus 32:27-29

among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with

But the Syrians fled before Israel; and David

Thou shalt surely

Because
of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul
unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had
slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved
mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear
proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land,
were transgressors.

Fight
in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah
does not like transgressors.

kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have
expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at
al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then
kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

'I saw the Lord standing beside
the altar, and he said: "Strike the capitals until the thresholds shake,
and shatter them on the heads of all the people; and those who are left of
them I will kill with the sword; not one of them shall flee away; not one of
them shall escape.'

'"Do not think that I have
come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but
to fulfill them. For truly, I say to
you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from
the Law until all is accomplished.
Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and
teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven,
but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of
heaven. For I tell you, unless your
righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter
the kingdom of heaven. "You
have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and
whoever murders will be liable to judgment.' But I say to you that everyone who is
angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his
brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be
liable to the hell of fire. '

answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the
Lord is one. '
I will keep your law
continually, forever and ever,
'"Teacher, which is the great
commandment in the Law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the
Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind. This is the great and first
commandment. '
And the gospel must first
be proclaimed to all nations.

Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so
have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and
His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between
any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We
seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final]
destination."

you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and

them from city to city: Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape
the damnation of hell? Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are
the children of them which killed the prophets. And say, If we had been in the days of our
fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the
prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. '
' And again he sent unto them
another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head,
and sent him away shamefully handled. And they caught him, and beat him, and sent
him away empty. And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that
he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. And again he sent another; and him they
killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. Having yet therefore one son, his well-beloved,
he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. And
they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. But those husbandmen said among themselves,
This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. What
shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the
husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. '
Woe to you! For you build the
tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed.
so that the blood of
all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the
world, may be charged against this generation,
At the command of
the Lord they camped, and at the command of the
Lord they set out. They kept the charge of the Lord, at the
command of the Lord by Moses.

And
[We cursed them] for their breaking of the covenant and their disbelief in
the signs of Allah and their killing of the prophets without right and their
saying, "Our hearts are wrapped". Rather, Allah has sealed them
because of their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.

has certainly heard the statement of those [Jews] who said, "Indeed,
Allah is poor, while we are rich." We will record what they said and
their killing of the prophets without right and will say, "Taste the
punishment of the Burning Fire.

And
We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention
that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants.

God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments
are not burdensome.

covenant and remember to do his commandments.

rules, and his commandments always
so that they should set their hope

The
ones who break the covenant of Allah even after its (binding) compact and cut
(off) what Allah has commanded to be held together and corrupt in the earth,
those are they (who are) the losers.

[recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining
upon them], "Do not worship except Allah ; and to parents do good and to
relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and
establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of

of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief
after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth
has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allah delivers His

[yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to
Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah . But those who believe are
stronger in love for Allah. And if
only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment,

But
those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will admit them to gardens
beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide forever. For them therein are
purified spouses, and We will admit them to deepening shade.

they who believe and do righteous deeds - those are the companions of Paradise;
they will abide therein eternally.

heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man. May the Lord give you increase, you and

heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord
God made the earth and the heavens.
Do you thus repay the Lord, you
foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you,
who made you and established you?

To
Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth.
Whether you show what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will bring
you to account for it. Then He will forgive whom He wills and punish whom He
wills, and Allah is over all things competent.

It
is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed
Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven
heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.

And
to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is over
all things competent.
